HFI Trains the
Trainer
If you're interested in our Train-the-Trainer
programs, simply call (800) 891-0707 and ask about our one- to three-hour
sessions.
Teaching and motivating people to avoid
liver-damaging activities is central to HFI's mission. It's also
an obligation for all of us who work with IV drug abusers and patients
with HIV and HCV. That's because, for too many years, the liver
has been the "missing link" in most drug/hepatitis prevention and
intervention programs. The good news is that it has been conclusively
shown that informed individuals-including youth - are more motivated
to modify liver-threatening behaviors.
The Hepatitis Foundation International provides Train-the-Trainer
programs for counselors, teachers, nurses, and others working in
hepatitis prevention and rehabilitation programs. Call (800) 891-0707
and ask about our one- to three-hour sessions.
We include simple but memorable messages about the liver as a "non-complaining
organ" and how viruses kill liver cells are "eye openers"
analogies shown to be effective in motivating people to avoid liver-damaging
activities. In addition, a new, fast-paced youth-targeted video,
"Give Your Liver A
Break" is also shown in the session. Many physicians, nurses,
counselors and addicts - many experts claim it's the best they've ever seen.
We look forward to working with you to add this important component
to your current efforts to help bring viral hepatitis under control
and reduce the incidence of substance abuse. Give us a call at (800)
891-0707 anytime.
"Give Your Liver A Break" video, other up-to-date teaching
tools, and printed information on all types of viral hepatitis for
all ages are all available in our Education
Section.
