Liver Wellness – Prevention of Viral Hepatitis and Blood Borne Pathogens

The Invisible Treat uses 3-D animation and memorable analogies to describe the importance of the liver to one’s health and well-being; how viruses, alcohol, and drugs can cause liver cell damage; what cirrhosis is; modes of transmission of blood borne pathogens; and ways to avoid liver damaging activities.

This 12-minute video enhances prevention of blood borne pathogens, promotes the prevention of hepatitis B and C, AIDS and substance abuse. It encourages immunization against hepatitis B and the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors.

Teens Talk to Teens About Liver Wellness

This 9 minute video is filling a tremendous void in information about the importance of the liver, ways to protect it and the transmission of viral hepatitis. It encourages viewers to take responsibility for their own health care including avoiding liver damaging activities such as injecting drugs, possible exposure to blood borne pathogens through body piercing, tattooing, and drinking alcohol.

Action oriented, this video features young adults identifying risk behaviors that can lead to hepatitis showing how this damage (cirrhosis) can occur. This is done through animation and memorable analogies that everybody can relate to in their daily lives and is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin and a special version for African American Youth.
